Rolando Pacheco Fleitez
Graduated from the National Ballet School of Cuba 1988. He was one of the founders of Spanish Ballet of Havana where he hathe opportunity to be principal dancer, choreographer and ballet master. It was here that he had the privilege of working with many famous teachers from Spain, such as Goyo Montero, Ana Casa, Jose Antionio Ruiz, Victoria Eugenia, Paz Diaz, Matilde Rubio, Trini Borruli, and Manolo Marin. Roalndo has worked with the Cuban Opera, the Comedia Lirica de Cuba, the National Ballet of Cuba. Rolando has traveled, performed, and taught international summer workshops in many countries including Spain, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Mexico, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany. In 1999, Rolando founded his professional Flamenco Co. ECOS, shortly after he was asked to perform in “Biennal de Flamenco de Sevilla” and tour Europe with Maria Serrano Co. After his tour Rolando Pacheco was invited as Artistic Director of South Texas Dance and McAllen City Ballet in Texas. Rolando has been requested to teach around the world including a series of Master Classes at San Jacinto College in Houston, Dance Academy “Las Cabales” Mexico, Costa Rica Ballet, and Peninsula Ballet Los Angeles. He also is a permanent Guest Teacher and Choreographer for International Ballet of Houston and Progressions Performing Arts in Spring, Texas. He has had his students gone on to professional careers in companies such as Sarasota Ballet, Ballet Met Columbus, and Louisville Ballet and has been accepted in some of the most prestigious ballet schools around the United States including; American Ballet theatre's summer intensives in New York, Miami City Ballet School, Joffrey Ballet School, Orlando Ballet School, Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy, Orlando Ballet School, and Ballet Austin. Presently Rolando Pacheco continues to teach workshops and choreographs around the world. As a choreographer, Rolando's style represents a fusion of styles including Classical Ballet and Classico Español, Escuela Bolera, Modern, Flamenco, Contemporary, and Traditional Cuban and Spanish Dance. In August 2009 Rolando started his professional company in Texas called McAllen Ballet.
